Relebohile Mary Monethi
Relebohile Monethi has more than four years’ experience in agribusiness. Currently, Relebohile is founder of Morali’a Monethi Farms, a business that raises broiler chickens and processes them for mass retail and that grows vegetables for its healthy smoothie line. When Relebohile saw an opening in the Lesotho market for affordable, nutritious food, she also opened a small restaurant that sells healthy food and smoothies. Relebohile has partnered with the Hub Maseru, a nongovernmental organization that gives children access to the internet and offers workshops to high school students and funding for their own small businesses. Relebohile wants to be a role model for other female farmers and to break the stereotypes that hinder their success and their ability to own land. Relebohile credits the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, which she received in 2017, with exposing her to new experiences and skill sets and with expanding her professional knowledge and network.
