Sebabatso Youth Conference Showcases Mobihealth LS Innovation

At the ongoing Sebabatso Youth Empowerment Initiative Conference in Maseru, young innovator Mpho Fanyane presented the Mobihealth LS application, a technology designed to bring healthcare access to every Mosotho.

Fanyane highlighted that Mobihealth LS combines multiple healthcare services in one platform. Key features include a USSD system checker with remedies, a clinic and nurse booking system, a maternal health hub, mental health support, pharmacy linkage, medical reminders, and offline access for areas with limited internet connectivity.

She explained that the application aims to reduce unnecessary clinic visits while empowering families with healthcare knowledge. Beyond improving access to health services, Mobihealth LS is designed to create employment opportunities for nurses, developers, herbal specialists, and community health workers.

The initiative reflects Sebabatso’s commitment to supporting youth-led innovations that address local challenges. By integrating technology and healthcare, the project offers a practical solution to improve health outcomes while fostering economic opportunities for young professionals in Lesotho.

Conference organizers noted that innovations like Mobihealth LS demonstrate the potential of Basotho youth to drive change in health, technology, and community development.
