DCEO Launches Regional Office in Botha-Bothe to Strengthen Anti-Corruption Efforts

The Directorate on Corruption and Economic Offences (DCEO) has officially opened a new regional office in Botha-Bothe, extending its services to the northern districts of Botha-Bothe, Mokhotlong, and Leribe. The office aims to bring anti-corruption initiatives closer to the public and improve access to support for those affected by economic offences.
At the launch, Minister of Law and Justice Mr. Richard Ramoeletsi highlighted that establishing regional DCEO offices has been a key goal of the current government. He explained that decentralizing services will reduce travel and logistical costs for citizens who previously had to go to Maseru for assistance.
“Corruption remains a major challenge as it undermines our economy and public services. These offices are designed to enhance service delivery and ensure that anti-corruption measures reach the communities that need them most,” Mr. Ramoeletsi said.
The minister also announced plans for further expansion, with a new DCEO office scheduled to open in Mohale’s Hoek. He stressed that combating corruption requires collective action, emphasizing the need for cooperation from all sectors of society.
The Botha-Bothe office represents a significant step in decentralizing government services, improving transparency, and strengthening the fight against corruption across Lesotho.
