The European Film Festival (#EUFFLesotho) hosted a full-capacity screening last evening for the French documentary “Personal Best: Paris 2024” at the Alliance Française de Maseru (AFM). The film captures the journeys of athletes during the #Paris2024 Olympic Games, highlighting both record-breaking achievements and the personal challenges faced behind the scenes.
The event attracted sports enthusiasts, film lovers, and distinguished guests, including Ambassador of France to South Africa, Lesotho, and Malawi, David Martinon. Representatives from the Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC) and various Lesotho sports federations were also in attendance, underscoring the event’s significance as a platform for celebrating athletic excellence and cultural exchange.
“Personal Best: Paris 2024” offers viewers an intimate look at the dedication, resilience, and emotional experiences of Olympic athletes. The documentary not only showcases triumphs on the field but also provides insight into the personal struggles and sacrifices athletes endure to reach the pinnacle of their sports.
The European Film Festival continues nightly at 17H30 until Friday, 24 October, at AFM. The festival will move to other venues next week, offering more opportunities for audiences across Lesotho to engage with European cinema, celebrate cultural diversity, and gain inspiration from stories of human determination and achievement.
The festival remains a key platform for fostering cultural dialogue, promoting international cooperation, and highlighting the role of sport and storytelling in connecting communities. Attendees are encouraged to join the remaining screenings to experience compelling narratives and support the arts in Lesotho.
