Lesotho to Host 17th SADCOPAC Conference and 21st AGM at Manthabiseng Convention Centre

Lesotho will host the 17th Annual Conference and 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Southern African Development Community Organisation of Public Accounts Committees (SADCOPAC) from October 27 to 30, 2025, at the Manthabiseng Convention Centre.

The event will bring together Public Accounts Committees (PACs) from across the Southern African region to discuss strategies for strengthening parliamentary oversight and accountability mechanisms. Delegates will have the opportunity to share experiences, exchange best practices, and enhance engagement in public financial management.

The conference will be held under the theme “Strengthening Oversight for Sustainable Development; Enhancing Parliamentary Engagement in Public Financial Management.” Discussions will focus on promoting transparency, good governance, and fiscal accountability, key priorities for sustainable development in the region.

PAC chairperson Machabana Lemphane-Letsie stated at a press conference that the gathering aims to promote good governance, fiscal responsibility, and accountability among member states. She emphasized that the conference will provide a platform for robust dialogue, learning, and collaboration among parliamentary committees.

The 17th SADCOPAC Conference and 21st AGM will also enable participants to explore innovative approaches for monitoring public expenditure, improving financial reporting, and fostering citizen trust in government institutions.

The hosting of the conference in Lesotho demonstrates the country’s commitment to advancing transparency and accountability in public financial management while contributing to regional development objectives.
