Sebabatso Yoghurt Steals Show at Higher Education Fair

The National University of Lesotho’s famous Sebabatso Yoghurt stole the show at the recent Higher Education Fair in Maseru. Multitudes of prospective university students, current high school students and the public queued up to buy the famous NUL yoghurt as well as the fresh and sour milk.

On the 14th and 15th of March, the Council on Higher Education hosted a 2019 CHE Fair for different high schools nationwide. The two-day event was a career guidance held in order to make students aware of the existing programme offerings at the higher learning institutions in Lesotho and neighbouring countries.

The National University of Lesotho was represented by different members from the 7 faculties and Institute of Extra Mural Studies as well as Academic office and University Library. NUL was vibrantly introduced by enchanting and well-informed individuals who swayed a great deal of students to apply to our broad range of programmes.

The University’s faculties displayed all the different types of programmes and sub-programmes offered such as that under Historical Studies there are fascinating fields such as Archaeology, Environmental History and Heritage and Cultural Studies. Other stalls included the Faculty of Health Sciences, who also put up a great demonstration of the equipment used in their field. The Department of Food and Nutrition even brought along famous biscuits (Bohlale and Bohlokoa) for purchase which were quiet a catch for the participants.

The Institute of Extra-Mural Studies brought along equipment which fascinated students as they got to see experience the process involved with shooting television programmes. The students’ excitement was based on getting videotaped by a camera which delivered a live display to a connected television set.

In retrospective, the overall mood at the Convention Centre on the two days was one filled with knowledge, career guidance and fun! We are grateful to our University for giving potential students the opportunity to learn everything about the National University of Lesotho. A tap on the shoulder to all those who represented different faculties and departments within NUL… you guys did an incredibly awesome job!
