China-Africa Youth Festival Opens in Beijing to Strengthen Development and Partnerships

The ninth edition of the China-Africa Youth Festival officially opened in Beijing, China, focusing on youth development initiatives and strengthening partnerships between countries. The event is themed “Across Time and Space, Youth Power Strengthens China-Africa Friendship” and hosts 51 youth delegates from various African nations.
During the opening ceremony, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Miao Deyu, emphasized the central role of young people in fostering innovation and sustainable development. He noted that President Xi Jinping has consistently stressed that the future of China-Africa relations depends on youth engagement and leadership.
Mr. Deyu described the youth festival as a flagship program under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). He highlighted its function as a platform for young people to build networks, share experiences, and strengthen bonds across countries. The festival also supports the joint implementation of FOCAC outcomes, ensuring youth contributions translate into tangible development results.
The festival includes interactive sessions, cultural exchanges, and workshops aimed at equipping young leaders with skills and knowledge to drive initiatives in education, technology, and social development. By fostering collaboration between African and Chinese youth, the event seeks to create sustainable partnerships that benefit communities on both continents.
Organizers stated that the China-Africa Youth Festival remains a critical avenue for nurturing future leaders, promoting mutual understanding, and reinforcing the long-term China-Africa friendship.
