Trans-African Tourism and Unity Campaign Engages Lesotho on Visa-Free Africa

Following a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, the Trans-African Tourism and Unity Campaign team met with Chief of Staff Mr. Sofonea Shale and later held discussions with Minister of Tourism, Mr. Motlatsi Maqelepo, on Tuesday.
The campaign, backed by the Government of Ghana, aims to unite Africa through a visa-free policy for nationals traveling across the continent. It is traveling through 39 African countries over 163 days, with Lesotho marking the 13th stop on the journey.
The initiative advocates for seamless travel, enhanced tourism, and economic integration. It engages governments, traditional leaders, and citizens to promote the vision of a borderless Africa.
During the meeting, the team lobbied for the Lesotho government’s commitment and endorsement of the visa-free Africa agenda, emphasizing the benefits of increased mobility, tourism growth, and regional collaboration.
The visit highlights Lesotho’s strategic role in advancing continental unity and underscores the campaign’s efforts to foster closer ties among African nations.
