
Honourable Minister Nthati Moorosi from the Ministry of Information Communication Science Technology and Innovation addressed 200 selected youth on day three of the #STEAM2025 boot camp in Teyateyaneng.
In her address, the Minister emphasised the importance of not only pursuing a passion for innovation but also making those innovations bankable. She told participants, “Invest in your innovations and make them #bankable.”
She encouraged youth who were not selected from last year’s entries to continue refining their ideas and reapply in the following year. The Minister highlighted resilience and persistence as key to innovation success.
The Minister also addressed the role of Artificial Intelligence in innovation. She urged participants to strategically use AI to enhance their projects, stressing that technology should be a tool to advance their ideas.
Participants were encouraged to use the #Unipod for guidance and support with their innovations. The Minister also stressed the importance of collaboration among #STEAMers and sharing ideas to strengthen their projects.
In her closing remarks, Honourable Minister Moorosi expressed gratitude to the boot camp’s collaborating partners. She acknowledged the #UNDP team led by Dr Jacqueline Olweya, The Brand PR team with Mr Libe Mohale, Project Lead for STEAM, and thanked the 200 youth for their participation.
The Minister’s address reinforced the boot camp’s mission to equip young innovators with the skills, tools, and mindset to transform ideas into viable projects that can make an impact.
