Minister Inspects Maseru Tourist Information and Craft Centre to Strengthen Service Delivery

The Minister, accompanied by Principal Secretary Mrs. Mantiti Khabo, carried out an official inspection of the Maseru Tourist Information and Craft Centre this week. The facility, which operates under the Ministry’s stewardship, plays a key role in promoting tourism and supporting local artisans.

The visit focused on evaluating the Centre’s day-to-day operations, engaging directly with staff and craft producers, and identifying areas that require improvement. The Minister stressed that the inspection was part of a broader effort to ensure government-run tourism facilities meet high standards and provide effective service to both the public and visitors.

During the engagement, staff and artisans were encouraged to share their experiences and challenges in managing the Centre’s activities. This feedback will inform strategies aimed at strengthening service delivery, improving operational efficiency, and creating a more supportive environment for local artisans to showcase and market their work.

The Maseru Tourist Information and Craft Centre serves as both a resource hub for visitors and a platform for artisans to promote Lesotho’s cultural heritage. By addressing operational gaps and aligning services with the needs of the tourism sector, the Ministry aims to enhance the Centre’s role as a driver of local economic development and cultural preservation.

The inspection underlines the Ministry’s commitment to a hands-on approach in managing tourism facilities, ensuring they remain accessible, efficient, and impactful in supporting the sector’s growth.
