Lesotho’s MICSTI Joins Digital Innovators Summit 2025 to Champion AI-Driven Innovation

The Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation (MICSTI) has proudly joined the Digital Innovators Summit 2025, currently taking place at the American Corner in the State Library, Maseru. This dynamic summit, themed “Empowering Truth in the Age of AI,” is a high-level gathering of influential voices in technology, finance, education, and cybersecurity.
Representing the Ministry at this landmark event is the Principal Secretary, Mr. Kanono Leronti Ramashamole. His presence underscores the government’s commitment to fostering innovation and embracing the digital future as a driver of socio-economic development.

- Adv. Phelane Phomane, CEO of T-Connect, who emphasized the importance of ethical AI and regulatory readiness
- Zanele Selebalo, a leading cybersecurity analyst, who addressed the risks and responses to cyber threats in digital ecosystems
- Phello Ralibakha, IT Manager at LNIG Hollard, who spoke on digital resilience in the insurance sector
- Sam Mohatle, Head of Digital Banking at FNB, who unpacked the future of fintech and customer trust in digital platforms
- Lerato Molisana, Founder of Mathbridge Academy, who advocated for digital literacy among youth and underrepresented communities
- Mr. Joshua Phoho Setipa, former Minister and UN Tech Bank Representative, who explored how AI and innovation can drive inclusive development
The summit’s Guest of Honour, H.E. Harry MacDonald, British High Commissioner to Lesotho, also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the UK’s support for collaborative digital advancement and responsible innovation in Southern Africa.
