Family of Seven Receives Donations After House Fire in Setanteng

A family of seven, who were left stranded after their two-bedroom house was completely destroyed by fire, received much-needed donations from World Vision on Thursday.

Mr. Tsokeli Silane, 42, from the Setanteng community in Litsoetse, expressed his deep gratitude for the support he and his family have received after losing nearly everything in the devastating fire. In an interview, Mr. Silane, who is unemployed, reflected on the traumatic experience that changed their lives overnight.

The incident occurred in the early hours of November 28, when Mr. Silane received the heartbreaking news that his house was engulfed in flames. As the fire ravaged their home, the family lost a significant number of belongings, including two trampolines, a shade net, stoves (both electric and gas), furniture such as fridges and steel racks, a hand-operated miller, microwaves, a saddle, clothing, beds, wardrobes, mattresses, and cooking utensils.

Despite the overwhelming loss, Mr. Silane expressed immense gratitude for the timely assistance from World Vision, which helped the family begin to recover from the devastating tragedy. The donation provided them with essential items, easing the burden of their immediate needs as they work to rebuild their lives.

This act of kindness from World Vision has been a source of hope and encouragement for the Silane family, and it highlights the importance of community support in times of crisis.
