The Maseru City Council (MCC) and Alliance Group have taken a significant step towards improving the cleanliness of Maseru streets by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Maseru Market area on Tuesday. In his remarks, Mr. ‘Moea Makhakhe, the Town Clerk, emphasized the importance of forming alliances with street vendors to maintain cleaner streets. He highlighted that street vendors play a key role in the city’s ecosystem, and by working together, they can develop sustainable solutions to keep the streets free of litter.

Mr. Makhakhe also noted that the MOU would serve as a platform for both the MCC and street vendors to identify effective ways to dispose of waste within the city centre. This initiative will contribute to a cleaner, more attractive urban environment for residents and visitors alike.
