Santa Came Early for Thetsane Vulnerable Community as MP Nthati Moorosi Distributes Food and Assistive Devices

Thetsane residents experienced an early Christmas treat as their Member of Parliament and Minister of Information, Communication, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ms. Nthati Moorosi, distributed food parcels and assistive devices to vulnerable households in the constituency on Sunday. The initiative benefitted 150 households, with items including maize and wheat flour, rice, soaps, and eggs. One person with a disability received a wheelchair, ensuring accessibility and support for those in need.
Addressing the community, Ms. Moorosi said it was her wish to celebrate the festive season with vulnerable households. She highlighted that the lack of arable land at Ha Thetsane contributes to community vulnerability, forcing residents to purchase basic food items, including flour. Despite these challenges, she praised a local initiative where the community established a company producing bags to promote self-reliance and income generation.
Ms. Moorosi also shared updates on ongoing and upcoming constituency developments. These include the installation of Apollo street lights and rehabilitation of inroads, aimed at improving infrastructure and overall living conditions.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Mapaballo Morori expressed deep gratitude for the gesture. She said the donations would allow families to celebrate Christmas with essential food on their tables. “May God bless you and continue extending a helping hand to other vulnerable people,” she said.
Revolution for Prosperity (RFP) Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Boi Mohapi, praised Ms. Moorosi for her commitment to giving back. He encouraged the community to support her so that she can continue helping those in need and called on other MPs to emulate her example.
Ms. Moorosi, who is also the RFP Secretary General, has consistently presented gifts to vulnerable people for three consecutive years. She plans to extend the celebrations by hosting elderly community members at her home later in the season.
The event not only provided immediate relief but also reinforced community spirit and self-reliance, highlighting the positive impact of sustained engagement between leaders and constituents.
