Lesotho and Germany Strengthen Digital Cooperation in Bilateral Meeting

On December 16, 2025, the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, led by Honourable Nthati Moorosi, held a bilateral meeting with Dr Volker Wissing of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport of Germany. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in digital development and advancing Lesotho’s digital transformation agenda.

Key topics included policy and governance, with both parties reviewing progress toward a shared vision for a digitally empowered Lesotho. Honourable Moorosi reaffirmed the country’s commitment to building strong international partnerships in the digital sector and developing comprehensive data management frameworks to ensure a secure and coordinated digital ecosystem.

The meeting also explored collaboration on broadband mapping and the expansion of fibre infrastructure to improve national connectivity. Both sides emphasized the importance of capacity building, highlighting digital skills development and specialised software training for vocational institutions.

In addition, discussions covered the development and implementation of e-services to enhance government service delivery, aiming to make public services more efficient, accessible, and user-friendly. The bilateral meeting underscores Lesotho’s dedication to strengthening international partnerships and adopting innovative solutions to drive digital growth, enhance connectivity, and improve public sector efficiency.
