Lesotho Football Association Launches CAF Coaching Course in Maseru

On Monday, the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) officially launched a Confederation of African Football (CAF) coaching course in Maseru, bringing together 24 coaches from Lesotho and other African countries. The initiative aims to improve coaching standards and enhance player performance across the continent.

During the official opening, LeFA Secretary General Mr. Mokhosi Mohapi highlighted that the course is designed to equip coaches with advanced techniques and strategies to raise the level of football in Lesotho. He noted that LeFA does not provide financial support for participants, and each coach is responsible for covering their own costs.

Bafana Bafana assistant coach Mr. Helman Mkhelele, part of the coaching staff for the programme, emphasized that the course will provide participants with essential skills in football management, tactics, and player development. He added that these skills are critical for building competitive teams and nurturing talent at both national and club levels.

The CAF coaching course forms part of broader efforts by LeFA to strengthen football development in Lesotho and the region. By investing in coach education, the association aims to produce well-trained professionals capable of elevating the game and creating pathways for young players to reach higher levels of competition.

Participants will undergo intensive sessions combining theory and practical exercises, enabling them to apply modern coaching methods directly on the field. The course also encourages knowledge sharing among coaches from different countries, fostering regional collaboration in football development.
