Hello Mocha Toll-Free Call Centre Launched to Support Youth Health Communication

The Ministry of Health recently hosted the official launch meeting for the Hello Mocha Toll-Free Call Centre at Maseru District Hospital. The initiative is designed to improve access to health information and support services for young people across Lesotho.

The launch highlighted the call centre’s role in providing free, confidential, and reliable health advice. Young people can access guidance on sexual and reproductive health, mental health, nutrition, and other critical health topics without incurring any cost.

During the meeting, Ministry officials emphasized the importance of accessible health communication. They noted that the Hello Mocha Toll-Free Call Centre will reduce barriers to health information, particularly for youth in remote or underserved areas.

The call centre operates with trained health professionals who respond to inquiries, offer counselling, and provide referrals to relevant health services. The system is expected to improve awareness of health issues, promote early intervention, and encourage responsible health-seeking behaviour among young people.

The Ministry of Health also stressed the initiative’s potential to strengthen engagement with youth, enhance community health outcomes, and support national health priorities. The Hello Mocha Toll-Free Call Centre is part of broader efforts to leverage technology and innovative solutions to expand access to health services.

The launch at Maseru District Hospital marks a significant step in ensuring young people across Lesotho have reliable, confidential, and convenient access to health information and support.
