
Over three days in July 2025, Maseru hosted the National Math and Science Fair, bringing together students from across Lesotho to showcase their creativity, expertise, and problem-solving skills. The event highlighted the talent and potential of the country’s youth in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The fair drew 526 students, 104 teachers, 30 judges, and 12 sponsors, creating a platform for knowledge exchange and recognition of academic excellence. Participants presented projects ranging from innovative scientific experiments to complex mathematical models, reflecting both imagination and technical skill.
A total of 147 students received prizes and trophies, acknowledging their outstanding achievements. These awards serve not only as recognition but also as an investment in the country’s future, highlighting the importance of supporting young innovators who will drive Lesotho’s economic growth and development.
Organisers emphasized that fostering talent in math and science is crucial for national progress. By encouraging students to apply scientific principles and mathematical reasoning to real-world challenges, the fair aims to create a pipeline of future leaders in critical sectors such as technology, healthcare, engineering, and research.
