Showmax Originals Move to DStv Stream

Fans of Showmax Originals have a new place to watch their favourite African series. From 30 April 2026, Showmax Originals and select titles will be available on DStv Stream, which combines on-demand entertainment, live TV, and sports in one platform.

A dedicated Showmax section within the DStv Stream app will host popular series such as The Wife, Youngins, Devilsdorp, Adulting, and fan favourites from across Africa, including Wura and Single Kiasi. This move ensures that award-winning African content remains widely accessible after the Showmax service closes.

That commitment to African stories continues.”

DStv Stream will also offer international hits such as Starfleet Academy, The Burbs, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, and Afrikaans titles like Die Kantoor and Koek, with new content added weekly.

• Local hits like Mgidi Moms, uThando Nes’Thembu, Inimba, and The Real City Makoti
• Kids’ favourites including Cocomelon, Blippi, and Superstrikas
• World-class sport through SuperSport, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, LaLiga, and South Africa’s Betway Premiership, including the Soweto Derby on 25 April

Unlike the old Showmax Premier League, DStv Stream works on smart TVs, phones, and tablets, making it easier to watch anywhere.

2. Log in or sign up
3. Navigate to the Showmax section

Showmax Originals on DStv Stream are available to DStv Compact and DStv Premium customers, including satellite and streaming-only subscribers. DStv Compact Stream is available from R299.
