Acting Minister of Energy Hon. Mohlomi Moleko officially inaugurated the electricity connection project today. This project will provide electricity to 1,025 families in the villages of Ha Ntsie, Ha Mofo, Ha Mohlalefi, Ha Mohale, and Ha Lejela.

The project also includes local schools and a health centre, enhancing essential services in the area. It is funded with over M33 million, demonstrating significant investment in rural development.

Hon. Mohlomi Moleko presented the Kolo contractor tasked with implementing the project. The contractor will oversee all aspects of the installation to ensure timely and quality completion.

Phoqoane Member of Parliament Hon. Matankiso Tekane stressed that the availability of electricity will reduce crimes, which often increase in areas affected by darkness. This highlights the security benefits of the project.

The construction phase is expected to last 52 weeks. The contractor will connect households, schools, and the health centre to the electrical grid within this period.

This initiative marks an important step toward improving living standards and economic opportunities in these communities through reliable electricity access.
