Lesotho Hosts Nuit des Idées Event on Youth Economic Empowerment

On Thursday, 29 January 2026, Lesotho hosted a special edition of “Nuit des Idées,” bringing together young people for meaningful discussions and inspiring testimonies on youth economic empowerment. The event was organized by Alliance Française de Maseru (AFM), UNICEF, Youth Power Hub, and the EU Delegation in Lesotho. It provided a platform for dialogue, creativity, and exchange of ideas aimed at fostering opportunities for young people across the country.

Launched ten years ago by the French Institute in Paris, “Nuit des Idées” has grown into a global initiative that encourages discussion and innovation. Lesotho’s participation marked its integration into this international network, allowing local youth to share experiences, challenges, and solutions while connecting with global perspectives on social and economic issues.

The evening was honored by the presence of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Lerotholi and Princess Senate, alongside Ambassador Mette. Speakers shared testimonies and engaged participants in conversations about entrepreneurship, skills development, and strategies to expand youth participation in the economy. The event emphasized that collective action, even in small steps, can create meaningful change.
