Former Principal Secretary and ABC Leader Malefetsane Nchaka Passes Away

Former Principal Secretary, community leader, and senior All Basotho Convention (ABC) member, Mr. Malefetsane Nchaka, has passed away. The news was confirmed on Sunday by ABC Secretary General, Mr. Thebe Mokoatle.
Mr. Mokoatle stated that Nchaka died late on Saturday night around 23:00 following a prolonged illness. He had been battling prostate cancer, which ultimately led to his passing.
Describing Nchaka as a committed public servant, Mr. Mokoatle highlighted his lifelong dedication to public administration and political engagement. Nchaka held several senior government positions, including Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security. His tenure was marked by diligence, effective policy implementation, and strong institutional leadership.
Beyond his public service, Nchaka remained actively involved in Lesotho’s democratic processes. In the 2022 National Assembly elections, he contested as the ABC candidate for Thaba-Putsoa Constituency, demonstrating his continued commitment to politics and community development.
Party members and colleagues have begun paying tribute to Nchaka, recognizing his contributions to both public service and political life. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced as the ABC and the nation reflect on his legacy.
