On 24 September 2025, H.E. Phohleli presented her letters of credence to His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thami, Deputy Emir of Qatar, at the Amiri Diwan in Doha. This formal presentation marked her official accreditation as Lesotho’s ambassador to Qatar.

During the ceremony, H.E. Phohleli expressed her commitment to enhancing cooperation between Lesotho and Qatar, particularly in trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange. Following her accreditation, H.E. Phohleli participated in a meeting with H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who received copies of credentials from three newly appointed ambassadors, including H.E. Phohleli. During the individual meetings, Dr. Al Hammadi congratulated the ambassadors and affirmed the Ministry’s full support to advance bilateral relations with their respective countries across political, economic, and cultural sectors.

H.E. Phohleli used the meetings to discuss opportunities for investment, cultural exchange, and sustainable development programs that can benefit both Lesotho and Qatar. The discussions emphasized the importance of strategic engagement and mutual collaboration to strengthen diplomatic, economic, and social ties.

The presentation of letters of credence formalizes H.E. Phohleli’s authority to represent Lesotho in Qatar and signals a new phase in the country’s international engagement. Her appointment reflects Lesotho’s commitment to deepening diplomatic relations, attracting investment, and promoting sustainable development initiatives through strong partnerships with Qatar.

Through these diplomatic efforts, Lesotho is positioned to expand its presence on the international stage, foster cooperation in key sectors, and enhance opportunities for growth and development that benefit its citizens.
