King Letsie III Attends Special Church Service Ahead of 62nd Birthday Celebration

Berea, Lesotho – A day before His Majesty King Letsie III’s 62nd birthday, the King received spiritual blessings during a special church service held today at St Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Bela-Bela, Berea District. The solemn occasion set the tone for the national celebration scheduled to take place tomorrow.
His Majesty was accompanied by Her Majesty Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso, Princess Senate, Princess ‘Maseeiso, and Crown Prince Lerotholi. The presence of the Royal Family added a deep sense of significance to the service, which was attended by congregants and community leaders who gathered to offer prayers and well wishes to the King.
Also present were prominent traditional leaders, including Principal Chiefs of the Berea District: Chief Sempe Khabasheane Masupha of Ha Mamathe, Chief Peete Lesaoana Peete of Koeneng, and Chief Mamolapo Majara of Ha Majara. Their attendance underscored the unity between the monarchy, the church, and the chieftaincy in upholding the cultural and spiritual fabric of the nation.
The King’s birthday celebration, which will be officially held tomorrow in Berea, is expected to draw large crowds from across Lesotho. Cultural festivities, traditional performances, and community gatherings are anticipated as Basotho from all walks of life come together to honour their monarch.
Meanwhile, the communities of Koeneng, Berea—specifically Lioli, Maroala, and Matšekha—have already begun their own festivities, celebrating in advance to show their love and support for the King. The joyful atmosphere in the region reflects the deep respect and affection the nation holds for His Majesty as he marks another year of dedicated service to the Kingdom of Lesotho.
