Greater Inclusion of Women in Construction Urged by Minister Nthati Moorosi

The Minister of Information, Communication, Science, Technology and Innovation, Honourable Nthati Moorosi, has called for increased inclusion of women in the construction industry. She urged stakeholders to provide opportunities that enable women to assume leadership roles.
Speaking at a women in construction event in Mokhotlong on 13 September 2025, the Minister highlighted the need to dismantle barriers that limit women in the male-dominated sector. “Women have proven their resilience, skill, and innovation. What we need now is to ensure that they are not just participants but leaders in the construction industry,” she stated.
Minister Moorosi emphasized that empowering women in construction is vital for both gender equality and national development. She said the government is committed to implementing enabling policies, providing training programs, and supporting female entrepreneurs in the sector.
The event gathered women contractors, engineers, artisans, and aspiring builders from Mokhotlong and across the country. Attendees shared experiences, challenges, and strategies to strengthen female participation and leadership in construction.
By fostering inclusion, the Ministry aims to create a more diverse workforce, drive innovation, and accelerate development in the construction sector.
