National University of Lesotho to Host 50th Convocation Celebrating 1680 Graduands

The National University of Lesotho (NUL) will hold its 50th Convocation from September 22 to 26 at its Roma campus. The event will confer degrees upon 1680 graduands under the theme, “Equipping Graduands with Impact,” reflecting the university’s focus on quality, relevance, and visibility in higher education.

Mrs. ‘Mamosa Moteetee, NUL’s Director of Communications and Marketing, highlighted that this year’s convocation coincides with the university’s 80th anniversary. She described the occasion as a milestone celebrating decades of academic excellence and progress since NUL’s founding in 1945.

The 50th convocation will recognise the achievements of students and the institution, while also marking a commitment to further growth, innovation, and contribution to Lesotho’s development. The event will bring together graduates, faculty, and stakeholders to celebrate academic accomplishments and the university’s enduring legacy.

Through this convocation, NUL reinforces its mission to produce skilled, impactful graduates ready to contribute to the nation and beyond. The milestone event underscores the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its programmes, expand research, and maintain its position as Lesotho’s leading higher education institution.
