The Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), in partnership with The Broadcasters’ Organisation (TBO) Lesotho chapter, has announced that Lesotho will host the first-ever African Schools Regional Broadcasting Summit in Maseru.
TBO, a non-profit organisation founded in Botswana, aims to improve academic performance in public schools by engaging learners in activities such as debates, public speaking, poetry, essay writing, and STEM/STEAM projects.
Honourable Professor Ntoi Rapapa confirmed that the summit will take place from 16 to 19 September 2025 at Maseru East Primary School. The event will involve learners from all districts, including those in primary and secondary schools and students with special educational needs.
Five SADC countries—Lesotho, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, and Botswana—will participate, allowing students to showcase their talents across multiple disciplines.
Professor Rapapa expressed gratitude to sponsors and contributors, highlighting their essential role in the summit’s success. He congratulated participating learners and wished them success in representing their schools and countries.
The summit provides a platform for cross-border educational exchange, skill development, and recognition of student talent, marking a significant milestone for educational collaboration in the region.
