Lesotho National Team Begins Camp Ahead of World Cup Qualifier Against South Africa

The Lesotho senior national soccer team will enter camp this week in preparation for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifier against South Africa on September 5. The match will take place at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

According to Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) Media and Communications Manager, Mikia Kalati, locally based players have already been in training for three weeks, focusing on building form and tactical readiness ahead of the encounter with Bafana Bafana.

Kalati confirmed that foreign-based players will join the squad before next week. The team will continue its camp at Bambatha Ts’ita Sports Arena until September 2, when they are scheduled to travel to Bloemfontein.

On the squad’s current form, Kalati noted that the players appear physically and mentally prepared for the challenge. He acknowledged the natural sense of anxiety within the camp, describing it as a normal feeling ahead of a competitive fixture.

The clash with South Africa is a significant fixture for Lesotho, as both nations push for valuable points in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers. With rigorous training underway and reinforcements expected, the Likuena will be aiming to deliver a strong performance on South African soil.
