Lesotho National Soccer Team Begins Camp Ahead of 2026 World Cup Qualifier Against South Africa

The Lesotho senior national soccer team will start its camp this week in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match against South Africa. The game is scheduled for September 5 at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.

Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) Media and Communications Manager, Mikia Kalati, confirmed that locally based players have been in training for three weeks, focusing on readiness for the encounter with Bafana Bafana.

Kalati added that foreign-based players are expected to join the squad before next week. The team will remain at Bambatha Ts’ita Sports Arena until September 2, when they depart for Bloemfontein to complete final preparations.

Regarding the team’s fitness, Kalati stated that players appear physically and mentally ready. He noted that some anxiety is normal, given the importance of the match and the desire to secure victory.

Lesotho will aim to deliver a strong performance in South Africa as they seek crucial points in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
