Wodemaya Hosts Content Creation Masterclass in Lesotho

Celebrated African YouTuber and digital storyteller Wodemaya led a powerful masterclass on content creation yesterday at the Manthabiseng Convention Center in Maseru. The event, hosted by the Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC)—a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Arts and Culture—brought together aspiring and professional content creators from across the country for a day of learning, inspiration, and collaboration.

Wodemaya, known for his uplifting and authentic storytelling that highlights African cultures and success stories, was specially invited by LTDC as part of its ongoing efforts to boost digital tourism marketing and empower local creatives. The event was aimed at equipping participants with practical skills in video production, branding, audience engagement, and content monetization, all while promoting Lesotho as a vibrant destination for digital media and tourism.

During the interactive session, Wodemaya shared his personal journey from engineering student to one of Africa’s top YouTubers. He emphasized the importance of consistency, authenticity, and purpose-driven storytelling in building a successful online brand. His message resonated deeply with attendees, many of whom were eager to grow their presence on platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.

“This is a golden opportunity for us as Basotho content creators,” said one participant. “Hearing from someone who has built a global platform by telling African stories inspires us to use our own voices to showcase Lesotho to the world.”

Representatives from the Ministry of Tourism and LTDC expressed their excitement at hosting such an influential figure in digital media. They reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting youth-led innovation and leveraging content creation as a strategic tool for tourism promotion.

The masterclass also served as a platform for networking, with local videographers, bloggers, and influencers exchanging ideas and forming new collaborations. Many participants left the event feeling empowered to elevate their work and tell impactful stories that reflect Lesotho’s culture, heritage, and untapped beauty.

As the Kingdom of Lesotho continues to embrace the digital era, partnerships with content creators like Wodemaya highlight the country’s readiness to position itself on the global map—not just as a tourist destination, but as a hub of creativity and authentic African storytelling.
