Lioli Football Club Commends Progress on New Playground Rehabilitation
The management of Lioli Football Club has expressed satisfaction with the ongoing rehabilitation of the allocated playground for Tse Nala at Ha Ramonaheng, overseen by the Teyateyaneng Urban Council.
This development follows a tense standoff two weeks ago when Lioli FC management nearly halted construction activities for the Teyateyaneng Bus Terminal, previously located at the club’s old grounds. The conflict arose from allegations of a breach of contract by the Urban Council, with the club demanding the return of their original grounds.
Lioli FC General Manager, Mr. Lekhooa Thabaneng, confirmed that the issue has since been resolved, paving the way for significant progress on the new playground. He noted that earthworks and ground leveling have advanced notably, with machinery onsite expected to complete the task by Wednesday next week.
“This week, our main focus is to plant grass on the playfield, which will be followed by other essential activities such as fencing the area and installing water supply pipes to ensure proper irrigation,” Mr. Thabaneng explained.
The management is optimistic that the new grounds will soon meet the team’s needs, providing a suitable space for training and hosting matches. The collaboration between the club and the council marks a turning point in what was initially a contentious issue.
Lioli FC fans and the broader football community in Teyateyaneng are eagerly anticipating the completion of the playground, which is expected to enhance the team’s preparations and contribute to the local sporting scene. The club’s management has also called for continued cooperation to ensure the project is finalized without delays.
As the rehabilitation moves forward, the Lioli Football Club remains committed to fostering a strong relationship with the Urban Council and other stakeholders to support the growth of football in the region.
