Dr. Mohlalefi Sefika
Dr. Mohlalefi Sefika obtained a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from the National University of Lesotho (NUL). He earned M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA.
In 1998, Sefika co-founded Computer Business Solutions (Pty) Ltd, an ICT firm in Lesotho. CBS offers hi-tech training, strategic consulting, and enterprise solutions in such areas as software development, cloud services, project management, and technology audit. CBS currently employs sixty two (62) permanent ICT and business professionals. The company has made an indelible imprint in all sectors of the economy, delivering impactful, digital transformation Projects.
Sefika has an admirable track record of entrepreneurship and business leadership. In the last ten (10) years, as a founding Partner, he has helped establish innovative companies in Lesotho and South Africa including Brandbook (Digital Analytics platform), Chaperone (Mobile Money FinTech), Grand Duke, and Matla Investment Group. A few of his former students and/or employees have also stepped up with incredible courage to establish their own, successful, innovative businesses!
Sefika has established on-going social responsibility programmes at CBS contributing to community development in a number of ways, including (1) offering industrial attachment to University students (2) making regular donations to vulnerable and disadvantaged children and communities, and (3) offering free lessons about ICT to communities through various media. Since 2003, CBS has been providing awards to the best completing students in Computer Engineering at local tertiary institutions.
Sefika has ample corporate governance knowledge and experience, acquired in part through active board memberships in Standard Lesotho Bank, Grand Duke, Computer Business Solutions, and Council on Higher Education.
