Higher Education Fair 2026 Set to Guide Prospective Students at National Convention Centre

The Council on Higher Education (CHE) will host the 11th edition of the Higher Education Fair on February 5-6, 2026, at the National Convention Centre. The event will provide a platform for higher education institutions to showcase their programme offerings, entry requirements, and other academic opportunities. Prospective tertiary students will have the chance to gather essential information about higher education in one location, making it easier to make informed decisions about their future studies.

CHE Chief Executive Officer, Moeketsi Letele, highlighted that the fair will also feature career guidance sessions to help students understand different career paths. Experts in various fields will advise students on entry requirements, necessary skills, and job opportunities in their chosen professions. Financiers and scholarship providers will also be present, offering guidance on funding options to support students’ studies.

Local higher education institutions expected to participate include the National University of Lesotho, Botho University, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Lesotho College of Education, Lerotholi Polytechnic, National Health Training Centre, Scott College of Nursing, Roma College of Nursing, Maluti Adventist College, Paray College of Nursing, Institute of Development Management, Centre for Accounting Studies, Lesotho Agricultural College, Lesotho Boston Health Alliance (LeBoHA), Lesotho-China Collegiate, and Machabeng College.

In addition, CHE has invited colleges and universities from South Africa and Botswana to take part, reflecting the trend of Basotho students applying to study in these countries. The fair will also feature exhibitions running alongside career guidance sessions, creating an interactive environment for students to explore options and engage with institutions.

Financiers attending the event include the National Manpower Development Secretariat, the American Embassy, Econet Higher Life Foundation, Vodacom Foundation, and Letšeng Diamond Mine. These organisations will provide information on scholarships, financial aid, and other support mechanisms available to students. CHE encourages parents and guardians to accompany students to the fair to support them in making informed decisions about their academic paths.

Higher education institutions will have the opportunity to interact with industry leaders through sessions designed to explore potential collaboration. Discussions will focus on research partnerships, exchange programmes, financing options, and student internships. Presentations by industry representatives, development partners, and higher education institutions will further highlight opportunities for growth and engagement between the education and private sectors. The Higher Education Fair 2026 promises to be a comprehensive platform for students, parents, institutions, and industry players to connect, learn, and plan for future academic and career pathways.
