Minister Nthati Moorosi Delivers Keynote on Digital ID and National ID at Multi-Sector Dialogue

The Honourable Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, Honourable Nthati Moorosi, delivered the keynote address today at the Multi-Sector Dialogue on National ID and Digital ID as Catalysts for Multisector Interoperability in Maseru.

The event, supported by UNICEF Lesotho, brought together representatives from government ministries, the private sector, academia, and development partners. The dialogue focused on how Digital ID and Data Exchange can enhance efficient and inclusive service delivery across sectors.

In his address, Minister Moorosi stressed that strong Digital Public Infrastructure is critical for building secure, interoperable, and citizen-centred digital services. He highlighted that reliable Digital ID systems enable government and private entities to deliver services more efficiently, improve accountability, and support Lesotho’s broader transformation agenda.

The Minister underscored the importance of collaboration between stakeholders to ensure that digital systems are inclusive, accessible, and secure. He called for continued investment in technology and capacity building to strengthen the country’s digital ecosystem.

The dialogue provided a platform for participants to share insights, identify challenges, and develop strategies for implementing interoperable digital services. The initiative is expected to accelerate Lesotho’s progress toward a modern, digital-first government that benefits all citizens.
