Lesotho Gears Up for Annual 3 Ranges Trail Adventure

The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC), in partnership with Thapoha Hiking Club, will host the annual 3 Ranges Trail from October 4 to 17, 2025. This 14-day adventure spans over 300 kilometres, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore Lesotho’s diverse landscapes.

Ms Lisebo Mositsi, a member of the 3 Ranges Trail implementation team, highlighted the event’s role in promoting Lesotho as a premier adventure tourism destination. She explained that the trail challenges participants while showcasing some of the country’s most scenic locations. The route is designed to attract both domestic and international tourists, creating opportunities for Lesotho to expand its outdoor tourism profile.

“The 3 Ranges Trail is more than just a hike,” Ms Mositsi said. “It allows participants to experience Lesotho’s natural beauty while contributing to the country’s growing adventure tourism sector.”

Advocate Makhetha Mots’oari from the Lesotho Council for Tourism described the event as unique, noting that Lesotho is the only country in the world with a 100-kilometre elevation range. He added that the mountains provide pure air and a distinct natural environment, enhancing the adventure experience for all participants.

The 3 Ranges Trail continues to be a key event for Lesotho, blending outdoor recreation with tourism promotion. By attracting hikers from around the world, the event reinforces the country’s position as a top destination for adventure enthusiasts.
