Lesotho Strengthens Ties with China During Official Visit by Vice Chairman Zheng Jianbang

The Kingdom of Lesotho welcomed His Excellency Mr. Zheng Jianbang, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, on his official visit from 29–30 September 2025. Upon arrival at Moshoeshoe I International Airport, His Excellency and his delegation received a warm reception.

During his visit, Vice Chairman Zheng engaged with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Honourable Tlohang Sekhamane, and the President of the Senate, Honourable Mamonaheng Mokitimi. Discussions focused on strengthening parliamentary diplomacy, enhancing inter-parliamentary exchanges, and promoting legislative cooperation between Lesotho and China.

The visit highlights the enduring friendship and growing partnership between Lesotho and China. Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to mutual respect, solidarity, and shared development goals. This engagement underscores the importance of legislative collaboration in advancing bilateral relations and supporting sustainable development initiatives across both countries.
