Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation to Launch Awareness Campaigns on Proper Tourist Conduct

The Lesotho Tourism Development Corporation (LTDC), through its Public Relations Office, will be conducting a series of awareness campaigns across the district this week, from Tuesday to Friday. The initiative aims to educate various community groups, including herdboys, school learners, and local residents, on the significance of proper conduct towards tourists.

Mr. Molapo Matela, the Acting Public Relations Manager at LTDC, shared that the purpose of these campaigns is to foster a culture of hospitality and respect for tourists, ensuring that visitors to Lesotho have a positive experience during their stay. With an emphasis on community engagement, the campaign will focus on educating locals on the importance of protecting tourists and promoting responsible tourism practices.

The first day of the campaign, Tuesday, will be dedicated to educational sessions with learners from various primary schools, including Matsoaing. The sessions will aim to instill in young people the importance of being welcoming and understanding towards tourists, while also highlighting how proper conduct can contribute to the long-term success of Lesotho’s tourism industry.
