Lesotho and China Lead Construction of New Administration Block at Moruthane AME High School

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane, together with the People’s Republic of China Ambassador to Lesotho, Mr. Yang Xiaokun, officially led the sod-turning ceremony for the construction of a new administration block at Moruthane AME High School.
The ceremony marked the beginning of a key infrastructure project aimed at enhancing the educational environment for students and staff. The new administration block will provide modern offices, meeting spaces, and administrative facilities to improve school management and support academic programmes.
Speaking at the event, Minister Mpotjoane highlighted the importance of investing in education as a driver of national development. He emphasized that improved school infrastructure enhances learning conditions, strengthens administrative efficiency, and supports the broader objective of equipping Basotho youth with quality education.
Ambassador Yang Xiaokun reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Lesotho’s education sector. He noted that the project reflects the long-standing partnership between Lesotho and China, emphasizing collaboration in areas that directly improve social services and human capital development.
The construction of the administration block at Moruthane AME High School forms part of ongoing efforts to modernize educational institutions across the Kingdom.
