Minister Lephema Calls for Collective Effort to Support Children’s Education

The Minister of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs, and Police, Mr. Lebona Lephema, has emphasized the crucial role everyone must play in ensuring children acquire their right to education.

Minister Lephema made these remarks on Monday while leading the Back to School campaign at Assumption Primary School. During the event, he also handed over certificates of excellence to top achievers in the district, celebrating their academic accomplishments.

As part of the campaign, the Minister presented hampers containing stationery, sanitary towels, cosmetics, and other essential items to vulnerable children from various schools within the Berea district. The gesture aimed to provide these children with the resources and encouragement they need to succeed in their studies.

In his address, Minister Lephema underscored the importance of nurturing children as future leaders of the country. He stressed that a strong foundation in education is critical for empowering them to transform the nation into a better state.

“The most important issue while upbringing children is to encourage them to invest much of their time in learning so that tomorrow they can embark on transforming the country to a better state,” he said.

The Back to School campaign highlighted the government’s commitment to fostering educational development and supporting vulnerable children. The event also served as a reminder of the collective responsibility of families, educators, and communities in shaping the next generation of leaders.
