’Mapeete Ntjana Appointed Managing Director of Maluti Mountain Brewery, Advancing Gender Equality and Sustainable Development in Lesotho

The appointment of Mrs. ’Mapeete Ntjana as Managing Director of Maluti Mountain Brewery (MMB) marks a historic milestone for gender equality and sustainable development in Lesotho. She becomes the first Mosotho woman to lead one of the country’s flagship manufacturing companies, signaling a new era of inclusive leadership in the sector.

Mrs. Ntjana officially assumed her role on 1 January 2026, confirmed Mrs. ’Mapulumo Mosisili, MMB’s Corporate Affairs Manager. With over 15 years of leadership experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and manufacturing sectors, she brings a strong record in corporate governance, performance management, and building high-performing teams.

She is a Chartered Accountant, an MBA finalist, and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS), equipping her with the skills to drive strategic growth and innovation at MMB.

Her appointment aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SDG 5 on Gender Equality is directly supported through her leadership, promoting women’s full and effective participation in decision-making across business and industry. By breaking barriers in a traditionally male-dominated sector, Mrs. Ntjana also advances SDG 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth, as inclusive leadership has been proven to enhance productivity, innovation, and sustainable performance.

Furthermore, her leadership reinforces SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by fostering locally driven, high-level management in Lesotho’s manufacturing sector, and contributes to SDG 10 on Reduced Inequalities through the promotion of equal opportunities regardless of gender.
