Lesotho Ministry of Education Ensures Timely Delivery of School Supplies Ahead of Reopening

The Ministry of Education and Training, through the Director of the School Supply Unit (SSU), Mr. Tsepo Mohale, has reassured schools across Lesotho that educational materials will be delivered on time ahead of the new term. This effort is part of the ministry’s commitment to ensure that students have access to necessary learning resources from the first day of school.
Mr. Mohale explained that the SSU has been coordinating closely with suppliers and transport services to guarantee timely distribution. The unit has been monitoring stock levels of textbooks, stationery, and other essential teaching materials in all districts to prevent delays that could disrupt learning.
According to Mr. Mohale, the ministry has also implemented a tracking system that allows schools and district officials to confirm delivery schedules. “Our goal is to make sure every school, whether in urban or rural areas, receives the materials they need before the reopening next week,” he said.
The Ministry of Education and Training emphasized that timely delivery of learning resources is crucial for maintaining quality education and reducing disparities between schools. Over the past year, efforts have focused on improving logistics, ensuring that remote and hard-to-reach schools are not left behind.
The SSU director highlighted that the ministry is committed to continuous improvement in educational supply management. Regular feedback from schools is used to refine delivery processes, identify bottlenecks, and prevent shortages in future terms.
Parents and educators have welcomed the announcement, noting that early access to textbooks and learning materials allows teachers to start the curriculum on schedule and students to engage fully in classroom activities.
With schools set to reopen next week, the Ministry of Education and Training’s proactive measures aim to ensure a smooth start to the academic year, reinforcing the government’s commitment to quality education for all learners across Lesotho.
