Ambassador of the Order of Malta Pays Courtesy Call on Lesotho’s Acting Foreign Minister

Yesterday, His Excellency Mr. Michael P. Murphy, Ambassador of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta, paid a courtesy call on the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Honourable Lesaoana Pitso.

The Ambassador is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Lesotho from 20 to 27 January 2026. During his visit, he is also scheduled to meet with the Honourable Minister of Health, Honourable Selibe Mochoboroane, to discuss potential areas of cooperation.

Diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Order of Malta were formally established on 7 December 2021. Since then, the partnership has been guided by shared values, collaboration, and engagement within international frameworks.

The visit provides an opportunity to strengthen diplomatic ties, explore joint initiatives, and enhance cooperation in areas such as health, humanitarian support, and international development. It reinforces Lesotho’s commitment to maintaining strong global partnerships and advancing shared goals with international partners.
