Lithuanian Ambassador Pays Courtesy Visit To Lesotho Minister Of Information, Communications, Science, Technology And Innovation

On December 3, 2025, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania, Her Excellency Ms Rasa Jankauskaite, conducted a courtesy visit to the Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, Honourable Nthati Moorosi. The visit focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in science, technology, and digital innovation.

Lithuania has established itself as a regional hub for science and digital technology. The country has developed strong capabilities in biotechnology and Information and Communications Technology, driven by robust academic institutions, strategic government support, and a thriving startup ecosystem. These factors have positioned Lithuania as a model for countries aiming to advance in research and technological innovation.

During the meeting, Honourable Minister Moorosi observed that Lesotho appears to lag behind in life sciences research and innovation. She emphasized the importance of learning from countries like Lithuania that have achieved measurable progress in these sectors.

Both parties agreed on the need to enhance knowledge exchange in scientific research, digital transformation, and broadcasting. The discussions highlighted opportunities for collaboration, capacity building, and shared learning to accelerate Lesotho’s development in science and technology.
