Lesotho Football Association Brings Festive Cheer to St Paul for Deaf School in Leribe

As part of its Corporate Social Investment initiatives, the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) through its Stakeholders Committee visited St Paul for Deaf School in Leribe to donate food parcels to 160 children. The initiative aimed to bring relief, dignity, and hope to the students during the festive season.
The school, located in Hlotse, Leribe, caters to children who are deaf, have intellectual disabilities, or autism. LeFA’s Communications and Media Manager, Mr. Mikia Kalati, noted the importance of supporting institutions that address specialized educational needs.
Stakeholders Committee Chairperson, Mr. Katiso Lebitsa, emphasized the spirit of giving that comes with the festive season. He stated, “Our mandate as the Stakeholders Committee is to build relations and collaborate with our internal and external stakeholders to strengthen Lesotho Football Association. Christmas comes with the spirit of giving, spreading hope to vulnerable groups, and we are hopeful this gesture will give these children a memorable holiday.”
The Principal of St Paul for Deaf School, Mrs. Mapotlako Rakoti, expressed gratitude to LeFA for their timely support. She revealed that the school had recently suffered losses due to stock theft and domestic sheep predation, losing six cattle and 12 sheep. She highlighted the unique challenges faced by children with hearing and intellectual disabilities, emphasizing the need for specialized support in education, communication, and social integration.
Deputy Chairperson of the School Board, Ms. Manthatisi Molefe, praised LeFA for their generosity, noting that the donation brought joy and a sense of love to the school community during the festive season.
LeFA’s initiative demonstrates the association’s commitment to social responsibility and its role in uplifting vulnerable groups, ensuring that even during challenging times, children with special needs can experience hope and happiness.
