2025 Bacha Entrepreneurship Project Empowers Young Basotho Entrepreneurs

On 4 December 2025, the 2025 Bacha Entrepreneurship Project (BEP) concluded, marking the success of another year of youth empowerment in Lesotho. This initiative, a partnership between Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL), Standard Lesotho Bank (SLB), and Basotho Enterprises Development Corporation (BEDCO), aims to nurture young entrepreneurs and strengthen the country’s economic growth.
Since its inception in 2014, BEP has invested over M10 million, supported 33 youth-led businesses, and created more than 200 jobs, demonstrating the significant impact of youth-led innovation on Lesotho’s economy.
In 2025, five outstanding enterprises were selected for funding, chosen for their readiness, strong business foundations, regulatory compliance, and clear potential for growth. The top performers this year include:
- Molebatsi Rampine from Botha-Bothe: 90 Degrees Restaurant
- Mahase Thakane from Berea: Nutri Rosa Pty LTD
- Mahloko Reithabetse from Maseru: Fungi Farms
- Jafeta Rosalea from Mafeteng: Kiddies Pre School
- Letata ‘Mamotsamai from Botha-Bothe: Letata Vegetable Farm
These young innovators exemplify resilience, determination, and the future of Basotho entrepreneurship. BEP continues to provide a platform for youth to transform ideas into sustainable businesses, contributing to job creation, economic diversification, and national development.
The 2025 cohort reinforces the importance of investing in young people as drivers of innovation and growth, inspiring a new generation of Basotho entrepreneurs to build thriving businesses that impact communities across Lesotho.
