Lesotho Youth Initiative Praised for Driving Sustainable Development

The Minister of Gender, Youth, and Social Development, Honourable Pitso Lesaoana, has applauded the dedication of young people in Lesotho and credited the leadership of the Prime Minister for ensuring the success of a national youth program. Speaking at the event, the Minister emphasized that the initiative gave young people a platform to showcase their talents and products, proving the program’s positive impact.

“The youth seized the opportunity to exhibit their talents and products, showing just how impactful this initiative has been,” said Lesaoana.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) also acknowledged the role of government leadership in the program’s success. Dr. Jaqueline, representing UNDP in Lesotho, expressed appreciation for the consistent support provided by the Prime Minister. “We have always been supported and allowed to work closely with the Ministry to drive this initiative forward,” she stated.

The event reinforced the importance of partnerships between the government, international organizations, and the youth in creating sustainable opportunities. It highlighted how collaboration can open pathways for innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth while empowering young people to take an active role in shaping the future of Lesotho.
