Puseletso Agnes Mpeisa Joins Pan-African Parliament Through AU Youth Volunteer Corps

The Kingdom of Lesotho marked a significant achievement in regional representation with the appointment of Puseletso Agnes Mpeisa to the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) under the African Union Youth Volunteer Corps (AUYVC) Programme. This move highlights the vital role of youth in shaping Africa’s future governance.
Miss Mpeisa will serve in the Office of the Clerk of Parliament within PAP’s International Relations Unit. Her appointment reflects Lesotho’s growing influence in key African Union institutions. It aligns with the AU Agenda 2063, which promotes a prosperous and peaceful continent by involving young leaders in decision-making.
A professional social worker and human rights advocate, Mpeisa holds a Master of Philosophy in Human Rights and Democratization in Africa from the University of Pretoria (2023). She also earned a Bachelor of Social Work from the National University of Lesotho (2020). Her work focuses on policy analysis, human rights protection, youth empowerment, and strengthening democratization across Africa.
This appointment adds to her record of service and activism. It showcases her ability to address complex challenges and drive progress toward the ‘Africa We Want.’

Ambassador Ntsiuoa Sekete, Lesotho’s Permanent Representative to the African Union and UNECA, praised Mpeisa’s achievement. The Ambassador reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to mentoring and guiding young Basotho to access such continental platforms.
