Liphakoe Entrepreneurs Explore Trade and Investment Opportunities at LNDC Roadshow in Quthing

Entrepreneurs from Liphakoe and surrounding areas in Quthing gathered this week for a high-impact investment and trade roadshow organized by the Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC), in collaboration with local financial institutions. The event, hosted in Quthing, aimed to empower the local business community by promoting investment opportunities and facilitating direct engagement between stakeholders and entrepreneurs.
The roadshow served as a platform for local businesses to access crucial information on development finance, investment incentives, and trade prospects within the district. It also provided entrepreneurs with insights into how they can grow and formalize their businesses, with the support of LNDC and partnering financial institutions. Various sectors including agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, and retail were highlighted as having significant potential in the Quthing district.
Speaking at the event, Acting District Administrator Mr. Moses Mokati urged the Quthing business community to make the most of the knowledge and opportunities presented by LNDC and its partners. He noted that the district remains rich with untapped potential, and local entrepreneurs must take the initiative to transform that potential into sustainable businesses that contribute to both economic growth and improved livelihoods.
Mr. Mokati emphasized the need for the private sector to align itself with national development strategies and to use information on available financial tools and business support services to enhance productivity and competitiveness. He expressed optimism that with better access to capital, training, and market linkages, Quthing could emerge as a thriving hub for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
During the roadshow, LNDC representatives presented details on business development programmes, export promotion services, and industrial support available to qualifying businesses. Financial institutions present also showcased tailored loan products and mentorship opportunities designed to help local entrepreneurs scale their ventures.
Entrepreneurs who attended the event expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that it opened new perspectives on growth and helped them better understand the support systems available to them. Many highlighted the importance of such platforms in bridging the information gap between policy implementers and grassroots business operators.
The roadshow is part of LNDC’s broader effort to decentralize investment promotion and ensure that every district in Lesotho benefits from national economic development plans. By bringing key stakeholders closer to communities like Liphakoe, the Corporation hopes to unlock regional economic potential and strengthen local value chains.
As the business community in Quthing begins to absorb and apply the knowledge gained from the roadshow, the district is expected to witness increased entrepreneurial activity and improved economic outcomes in the coming months. The collaboration between LNDC, local financial institutions, and the Quthing administration reflects a strong commitment to inclusive growth and private sector development across Lesotho.
