Qacha’s Nek Hosts First Wool and Mohair Show to Promote Quality Production

The Qacha’s Nek Wool and Mohair Growers Association (QWMGA) successfully hosted the first session of its wool and mohair show in Qacha’s Nek, marking a significant event for local farmers and the agricultural sector.
Speaking at the event, the District Chairperson of QWMGA, Mr. Mothibeli Maketha, emphasized the importance of the show in fostering a culture of high-quality production in sheep and goat farming. He highlighted that such gatherings play a crucial role in enhancing livestock quality, which in turn boosts the overall standard of wool and mohair production in the region.
Mr. Maketha expressed appreciation for the participation of farmers, stating that their involvement was instrumental in making the event a success. He noted that without their presence, the show would not have been possible, as it serves as a platform for farmers to exchange knowledge and skills that contribute to improved farming techniques.
The event provided an opportunity for farmers to showcase their best livestock, learn from experts, and network with industry stakeholders. It also underscored the significance of continuous learning and collaboration in the agricultural sector to ensure sustainability and economic growth.
With this initiative, the QWMGA aims to encourage excellence in wool and mohair production while strengthening the farming community in Qacha’s Nek. The association hopes that such events will become a regular occurrence, further driving innovation and quality improvement in the sector.
