Collaborative Session to Promote Economic Growth in Lesotho

In a bid to contribute meaningfully towards fostering economic growth in Lesotho, a group of local consultants will hold an important session in Maseru on April 29, 2025. This initiative aligns with the country’s vision outlined in the 2025/2026 Fiscal Year budget, where Finance Minister Dr. Retsélisitsoe Matlanyane urged the private sector to take a leading role in boosting Lesotho’s economic development.

The upcoming session, themed ‘Lesotho in a Global Knowledge Economy,’ aims to provide a platform for various national stakeholders to engage in dialogue about the best strategies for propelling the nation’s economy forward. It will bring together consultants, government officials, business leaders, and other key players in the economy to discuss how Lesotho can effectively tap into the opportunities presented by the evolving global economic landscape.

Mr. Phomolo Lebotsa, the Media Liaison for the event, emphasized the significance of the session in helping the country adapt to the global knowledge economy. He pointed out that the world is increasingly driven by knowledge, technology, and innovation, and it is crucial for Lesotho to harness these elements for sustainable economic growth. The session will offer participants an opportunity to share insights, ideas, and best practices that could contribute to the nation’s economic transformation.

The event will also explore how Lesotho can better integrate itself into the global economy, leveraging its strengths while addressing the challenges it faces. By focusing on collaboration between the public and private sectors, the session seeks to identify practical and impactful solutions that will drive growth, job creation, and poverty reduction.

This initiative underscores the importance of active participation from all sectors of society in shaping Lesotho’s economic future. As the country looks to achieve long-term development and prosperity, forums like the one in Maseru are critical in fostering the discussions and partnerships necessary to unlock its full economic potential.

As Lesotho continues to navigate its path to economic growth, the upcoming session provides a timely opportunity to focus on innovative strategies that can position the country as a competitive player in the global economy.
